We made this Owl Ice Cream play dough by using a traditional play dough recipe from playdoughrecipe.com and adding glitter, feathers from an old pillow, plastic eyes and foam beaks! We also made cones out of yellow craft foam. Great for a gruffalo themed party!

Scooping poring and sieving while recalling a great children’s book!
We made some rainbow rice by mixing dry rice with food colouring in food bags and then pouring them out into dishes to dry. Adding a table spoon of vinegar helps the colour stay on the rice and not your hands.
To add more interest we added pulses and pasta so that particles could be sorted by size using sieves. Pompoms and Hungry Caterpillar toys were added she we could talk about the story.

Our Simple Moon Sand Recipe can be easily converted to Gruffalo Crumble! Recall and reenact your favourite children’s book! Push some play dough in to water balloons for squashy orange eyes! We added foam purple prickles, tufts of fake fur, green pompoms for poisonous warts, foam black tongues and mirror card claws!
